Sometimes it doesn't rain WW news, it hails!
rachel_edidin has started a series of reactions to the WW/Playboy cover thing in her
latest column. She asks a bonus question: What does Wonder Woman mean to you and why? Right now, I'll give the simplest answer: my childhood. Some of my fondest memories are of reading or watching the adventures of Wonder Woman. She has always been one of my heroines. I read some of her Golden Age stories when I was younger and most of Marston's whackier side went straight over my young head. Never mind I was more of a Diana Prince myself, mousy dark haired complete with glasses, Wonder Woman was who I wanted to be when I grew up.
Newsarama has the news that Aaron Lopresti, formerly of "Ms Marvel", is
becoming the new regular Wonder Woman artist. While I'm sorry to see the Dodsons depart the series, I'll be interested to see where this artist takes it. He's certainly used to drawing a comic book title with a female lead character. I'm a little nervous about a return of the Wonder-thong, but Gail vetoed it before, so hopefully she can continue that plea.
As for Terry Dodson, he gave his plans on his Yahoogroup:
"Wonder Woman 17 is my last issue of interiors and issue 18 is my last cover. My good pal, Aaron Lopresti, will continue with Gail Simone as the regular artist on Wonder Woman. Next up for me - illustrating volume 2 of Songes, the graphic novel series I'm doing for Humanoids. I'm also drawing covers for the new Marvel comic, Young X-Men."
The
first cover leaked on Newsarama. Not another deaged X-men Evolution as I'd feared thankfully. Nice to see Cyclops front and center though, all glowing red eye.

jsa_allstars wraithfodder has
further news on the SG1/SGA audios from Big Finish, including the main actors they've lined up. These are sounding great. You'll be able to order them from the
website as cds or downloads. There are also some American dealers around, but I'm not sure it's much of a bargain. Right now, there's no info on the series on the website, but again, I'm sure that'll change. I actually encourage people to sign up for their updates. They'll let you know when they've added stuff to the website. I've listened to a number of their Doctor Who productions and while I've had issues sometimes, they've all been well done. I'm really looking forward to the one with Torri, although the Daniel & Vala one will be a trip.
