Don't quit your day job

dc_flashfiction returned with a new challenge recently. I swear they must have a sixth sense when I'm in the mood for DCU prompts. The secret identities one is very intriguing. A lot of my JLU bunnies seem to involve the Leaguer's "day jobs" or alter egos. I understand the focus on their powers, but we never see their other skills coming into play. They're a pain to research for, but fun to play with. Much as I adore Flash, they really are scattershot with his characterization and I'd be curious what they'd think of his forensics job. Bruce found out his identity, so he knows about the job in theory. I could see Clark being just as relentless in an interview as in a fight. Diana is problematic, since she really doesn't have a secret identity. The current bunny is mixing those ideas around, including what happens when a head injury turns Wonder Woman into Lt. Diana Prince, mousy and modest but extremely smart-mouthed test pilot. I can't seem to have her come out any other way in my head. She seems to lack all of Diana's sense of tact and diplomacy with some rather painful results. It's so terribly crackfic on some level. Maybe I'll work it out of my system. Maybe.

How do I come with these things?

Um... don't answer that. I'd rather not know.

Also being tempted by the toys again. I was at FYE and they had not one but three Wonder Woman action figures. The Silver Age one has her strappy boots and the Kingdom Come one has such an ugly face. Alex Ross may do pretty artwork, but his female faces are always too mannish for my tastes. The one I really liked was the Infinite Crisis one with the cape and pretty hair. My comics shop had a poster on display for the upcoming Wonder Woman series action figures with the Agent Diana Prince, WW, Donna Troy, and Circe ones, which was nice to see. Of course by that point, there may not be much of a WW comic left...

action figures, things i'm not writing, dcu
