So Doctor Who returned to Sci Fi Channel with season three, bringing me back to have something to watch on Friday nights. I hadn't seen "Runaway Bride" before. Donna will take some getting used to. She isn't bad when she isn't screeching. Do I need to turn in my fandom card if I'm not particularly wild and crazy about Donna? I mean, yes, the Doctor needed someone to bop over the emo head, but well, he's needed that for awhile now. Just saying.

Before Who premiered, Sci Fi Channel is airing "Kindred: the Embraced", the awful Fox tv series based on the "Vampire: The Masquerade" game. I barely could get through the pilot episode. Maybe it improves after that, but part of me can't care. I found myself only caring about a few characters. Mostly I was confused who belonged to which clans. None of it was really clear. It makes me miss "Blood Ties" or even "Forever Knight". It does feel like only yesterday I was on the old vampyres@guvm list listening to debates on "Kindred" and "Interview with the Vampire" adaptations.

DCU Kissing Meme: So far a smattering of various DCU couples. I haven't contributed yet, but I'm thinking hard about it. There's so many couples to choose from.

Why there are no female Transformers in the new movie: As you might have noticed, yes, I did watch "Transformers" when I was younger, along with the girlier "Jem and the Holograms". Alas I never felt like I could admit it around the boys at school, because cars and robots and planes were even less girl-things than comics. *sighs* One of my favorite old episodes was "The Search for Alpha Trion" where we meet Optimus Prime's old girlfriend Elita One and her team of girl Autobots. I liked the character, although the overpowering power pink of her character design was a bit much. The show never explained why there were girl Autobots, even in "War Dawn" flashback, just that they just existed next to the other ones. Why do they need to? There's a long history of female Transformers they could draw from. I wanted to like Arcee really and maybe they could make her better this time around. At least it's something else to complain about...
