X-Men movie drabble
I was bopping back and forth between the Grammy Awards and the X-Men movie because of xaviers. I figured I could at least catch my character's brief appearances in the school scenes. I missed those later on, but I did catch one reference I hadn't noticed before, if only because I'd never bothered to read Kitty's bio before...
The girl in Illinois
"Here's a girl in Illinois who can walk through walls. So what's to stop her from walking into a bank vault? Or into the White House? Or into their houses?"
Oh my god, Senator Kelly mentioned me on CSPAN. He didn't give my name, but who else could it have been? They know about me! They're making it sound like I'm going to phase into someone's home at any moment.
Mom utterly flipped out on the phone afterwards. She wanted to talk to the Professor immediately. When I enrolled here, Professor Xavier had assured her I would be safer at his school, away from the "normal" world. She didn't want more doctors poking and prodding me.
Now everything is changing. People know there are mutants out there. People have proof that we exist. And if all they remember from that hearing is Senator Kelly's warnings about that girl in Illinois, then what chance do we have for acceptance?
