"Farewell to Harry" probably did need a bottle of bad whiskey to make sense of it, but since I don't drink, I had Betty Crocker's Warm Delights, the chocolate cake even I, the unbaking person, couldn't destroy. With those, I finally had my long overdue Nano reward party. I'm rather glad I didn't see this before Nano, before I would have likely wound up with a book with one very pretty guy, lots of hats ("the fur room, never the felt room") and old typewriters ("just the way you like them, pre-Eisenhower")... and a platinum blonde who reminded me of HL's Amanda, except the accent was completely wrong. Flanigan was lovely to watch in all those suits and rolled up sleeves... sigh... sorry, where was I? The movie had a very retro feel throughout, even though you also felt it took place today. The writer in me could easily have found inspiration in old broken down buildings.
