first of all we got the dumbest assignment in CWI. Second of all i waited to sunday at 8:30 to start it. well here tis it.

Speedy Shelton and his World-Wide Journey
Once upon a time there lived a turtle. This was not an ordinary turtle. His name was Shelton and he had a special gift. The speed of this turtle was unparalleled by any other turtle that had ever existed or would ever exist. He was as fast as greased lightnin’. Although he had this amazing gift, he was sad. He had lost his family.
It all started when Shelton’s family decided to go to an archipelago to find food. Since it is a group of many islands in a large body of water, the family would have many options for food. By mistake, Shelton went too fast and ended up at a partial area of a sea or ocean he thought was a gulf. He figured his family would return to their home on an atoll off the coast of Hawaii. He loved living on that circular coral reef he called home. He enjoyed swimming with his brothers in the lagoon, the shallow pool of water at the center of his atoll. So he decided to just go back home and meet his family there. But, there was one problem: he didn’t know where his atoll was. Since he had the gift of speed he thought if he went around the world, he would eventually find it.
So, he started on his journey. He knew that his atoll was surrounded by water so he decided to search all the water bodies he could find. His first stop was at a lake. He saw that it was completely surrounded by land and immediately knew it wasn’t his home. He followed a river that led to the lake and found he was in a jungle. Although, it was tropical like his atoll, the jungle also densely overgrown with vegetation so he knew it wasn’t his home. He was becoming discouraged, but he kept on going. He found his way to a long, wide body of water connecting other bodies of water and remember he had learned from his mom that it was called a sound. Then, eventually, after crossing a flat plain, he found some more water. He was greatly disappointed to see that it was only a natural hot spring geyser. He didn’t want to give up though so he kept on his search for his family.
This time he noticed he was very cold. He was on a glacier. Penguins owned this glacier. He decided to ask these penguins for directions. Their reply was that since their glacier moved across the earth’s surface, they had also lost track of where they were. Shelton was very discouraged. He was so sad that he just sat on the glacier and watched icebergs float by. Suddenly he heard a squeak. A penguin had waddled up to him. “Hi, I’m Squirt,” said the little penguin. “I know that your sad because you’re lost, but you can’t give up. For instance, last week I was learning how to swim and I just couldn’t do it. I wanted to give up, but I didn’t. Now I can swim and it was worth the time I put into learning.” Shelton was inspired to keep going.
Eventually he came point of land projecting into a body of water. He only got to this cape after a four other places. He had gone across a dune in which he didn’t like because the sand was blown into his shell making him uncomfortable. He also came across a large area of trees that he concluded was a forest. In addition to this, he also came across a tundra. The Permafrost and lack of trees, made him cold and depressed. He didn’t want to go on. He remembered what Squirt had said and he kept going. When passing over a flat land plateau, which was higher than the surrounding land, saw a saw a cape. He trudged to the cape and started to swim. He swam to the and almost turned up a channel, the deeper part of the river but decided to keep swimming until he reached an isthmus. He walked up on the beach and crossed the isthmus in order to get to the other body of water. He had the feeling he was very close. He swam and swam. Shelton started to recognize the water. Suddenly he saw his atoll and his family. He swam faster than ever. The whole family became part of an enormous turtle group hug! They exchanged many “I love yous” Thanks to the inspiration of Squirt, Shelton was back home safe and sound.
