So! I had the idea of the damsels getting that window open and using pages from the books to make paper airplanes to guide in the ship to rescue them! It... was cute and I want it 8< and it seems to fit very nicely with the way the third task is meant to go. They're lost in the big open sky searching for they don't even know what and suddenly airplanes guiding them right where they need to go!
If that's not what you want to happen, feel free to say! Also, I don't think it particularly needs to be threaded along, but if you actually have interest in making that a log or something, let me know! Bambi and Tink may have a puppy reunion and it wouldn't be any skin off my nose to give a second subset as the Group 5 rescue.
