I haven't updated in ages and tbh I've been travelling so much i'm actually slightly exhausted from living off a luggage of clothes (also I'm having problems finding clothes to wear at home since everything is still in the wash and I hate wearing new clothes which smell)
I've been reminding myself on a daily basis to blog about my trip to the mekong delta and cu chi tunnels in vietnam but I really have been awfully lazy and procrastinating way too much - take for example this afternoon, I got back at 2.30pm and spent my entire afternoon/ evening until 7pm watching running man (and also spent a good 1 hour searching for episode four and five because the links I have don't work - if anyone has it please tell me! I'm completely hooked D:)
So here's a little timeline I shall promise to keep by - because even if no one reads my blog, i use it as a reference on what I've done, where I've been and where I should go again when I return to the country. SO here's the plan - Monday/ Tuesday will be blogging about Vietnam days and by Saturday i shall have finished blogging about Taipei!
Here are a few highlights about Taipei while I'm boring my life away watching The Bachelor 14 (listening about this girl who acted as sleeping beauty and ariel in some disney musical)
永康牛肉麵
shaved mango ice with mango chunks, strawberry slices and kiwi cubes + pana cotta.
starting mornings with hot beef buns and a giant cup of passionfruit (real passionfruit! not syrup!) green tea with aiyu (for $1.50)
the trip to 麻辣鸳鸯火锅
(and reasons why we were so excited to go there.. at least I was)
wall of food - fresh fish slices, fresh crab and everything you could possibly ask for
desserts madness
free flow of haagen dazs and movenpick ice cream
30 minute cable car ride up the mountain :)
I love the maokong gondola - especially at the grand price of 50NT per person two way
seriously the nicest view ever
and of course the great thing about going up maokong: 猫空站手工煎较
I recall having two plates of it when I first tried it last year and the standard wasn't different this time around, I literally gobbled up the two plates of 煎较! They were super good!
super yummy fruits and forever being amused by how massive their watermelons are!
多多禄茶
shopping & more specifically, stationery shopping!
面线@西门町
super awesome and cheap sashimi bowls from the japanese stall joy, sher and I found at liuzhangli last year
he's moved to chongde street, which is the alley near his old store - and you can find him across the road from "COME BUY" bubble tea
His sashimi bowls are packed with generous servings of fresh sashimi and his rice is well seasoned - here's the best part, it's a grand total of $4.50 SGD for the super awesome bowl of sashimi and rice.
I'm smiling but trust me, mark was having the hardest time drag me to the boarding gate because i really didn't want to leave taipei
and now it's time for a shower + unpack my luggage and probably go catch some sleep because it's st iggy's carnival tomorrow!
