Today was my last day of work and as elated as I was that I am finally free from the burdens of working life, I felt a bit sad to leave the office and especially my area. I'm going to miss being nicely settled in my chair in front of the computer screen for 10 hours stoning, while perpetually munching on food. Hopefully, I'll lose the weight I gained from this job as well. :/
Anyhow, since it was my last day on friday, i decided to bake pseudo-lamingtons on wednesday night so that I could distribute them to my colleagues.
I'm pleased to announce that they turned out great (:. Unfortunately, silly ol' me forgot to pass a share to joy, al and cow when i saw them just now T.T
and so they started out as extremely-yummy-on-its-own sponge cake blocks
& then they were dipped into chocolate icing-Lamingtons are normally fully covered with the icing but that will also = to highway to diabetes
& then you sprinkle desiccated coconut over (:
& so psedo-lamingtons aside, I also took some pictures of my office and area at MCYS.
I'll be going back next week for lunch with my supervisor and several others- and funnily enough, i'm actually quite excited to do so.
Me at my area: in the process of clearing my stuff out
haha you can see buddy's image as my desktop background (:
earlier on this morning. 3/4 of my clutter had already been cleared off 2 days earlier.
mhmm. i'm going to miss my bottle of soya milk and waffle every morning
after clearing, minutes before I left- my area back to it's empty original state ):
My pass which I was supposed to return... :P
My manager Prabha at her work area (:
So yes, My first ever work experience has come to an end, and I'm about to zoom off to Melbourne in slightly more than a week.
My jet-setting plans have been rudely disrupted by the NUS orientation which takes place in june ):
Was meant to go to Surabaya on a service trip from the 13th of June to the 21st of June, but it seems like I have to be in Singapore from the 17th to the 20th of June. ): ): Of all the dates they can choose from they chose the days which are right smack in the middle of my trip. *watches the money i paid for my flight fly away*
What I'm definitely looking forward to over the next week:
- Mother's Day celebrations at the Botanical Gardens on Sunday(:
- Cycling/ Rollerblading/ Prawning with the Braidy Bunch
- Sleeping in on the weekdays!
- College Day
- Zooming off to Melbourne!!! :D
- Muay Thai lessons with Delle
- Monday's birthday celebrations
- More time at home with buds, dad & wati
- More time at mummy's shop to accompany and help her
- me making a decision on where to go
** Wati is very funny. She subtly hinted to me that I need to pack my luggage soon by placing a huge-ass luggage in front of my door so that I couldn't miss it upon entering my room... sigggghhh.
