Well, as inspired by Di, it's time to post a this-is-what's-going-on-with me post (mostly 'cause work went from 60 to 0 today and I actually have time to think for once)...
FASS is done, and so is the metric crapload of stuff on my plate. I'm bored. That won't last for long (see below), but for now I'm bored...
Vacay last week was wonderful. Vermont was great - great weather, great skiing, great company. Drive was just over 9 hours with a detour to Oakville to drop off / pick up my cousin. The car braved it quite handily in spite of her mishaps the week before. And I've decided skiing with an MP3 player is an awesome idea. So cool flying down the big vermont mountains with a rock soundtrack in your ear...
I've decided to apply for grad school, for a MA/PhD at UofGuelph starting Sept 2008. I have no idea if this is wishful thinking or not. I haven't been a full-time student since August 2007, but I kind of miss it. And I feel like my life is just stalled in the meantime. That means I have to write the GRE though. Which means I have to study for the GRE. And since my undergrad grades are not all that stellar (curses that term I took biology... who ever said it was ok to try different things in university should be taken out back and shot), I'm gonna have to ACE this exam. On top of that I'll have to find my thesis advisors and random course instructors from 3 years ago to see a) if they remember me and b) if they even thought enough of what I did to write a letter of reference. So much for "nothing to do"...
While September 2008 is not really that far, I've decided I need a more stimulating job in the meantime - something a bit more along my career lines than a call center (boy, wouldn't we all like that). While I've been completely happy with Manulife, and fully intend to start applying internally next week once my 1-year aniversary comes by (holly crap! I've stayed with a job for a full year! the sky is falling!!!) if anybody out there happens to hear of any entry level HR jobs floating around, please let me know...
Otherwise life keeps chugging by. Need to set my drum kit up again post-FASS and start jamming. I feel like I was actually starting to get good at that, can't let it slip away from me. I also need a new guitar - I've never had an acoustic guitar. Maybe it's time to rekindle my musical side.
