These are biodegradable, compostable, "plastic," bags for produce and groceries. Regular plastic bags are made from petrochemicals; strangle turtles, whales and other sea life, and break into nano particles which congest the bodies of fish and other life. In a decade or two, there will be more plastic in the oceans than fish. This is contributing to declines and extinctions of various fish and birds. Plastic affects the ecosphere during its production, by altering the oceans' surface, and by throwing deadly toxins into the air when they are burnt.
Presently, it seems, "BioBags" can only be purchased in bulk - unless you lobby the makers to also sell to individuals and smaller businesses. Some of you may even want to write to supermarket chains to get these bags into their stores. And, the idea of a cooperative springing up to buy a bulk shipment, and then making a profit by selling smaller amounts to individuals, really seems like a good idea to me.
