Lots of variety.

The idea that Europe will freeze due to global warming is a possibility, but not a high probability. That doesn't mean it won't sink into deeper cold snaps in the future.

But if Europe were seriously to freeze, it could launch a swing away from global warming back into an ice age. This is a very low probability. It is a theory that has been around since the beginning of the study of warming. In recent years, though, scientists tend to feel that this is not going to happen, (from observing rates of runoff from Greenland, etc).

One thing scientists are not really exploring is the changes that occur underground in a warming Earth. Not so easy to measure or study, (or even imagine maybe). I feel that seismic and volcanic activities will increase, further affecting climate, perhaps chaotically. (This effect will be stronger if non-anthropogenic cause/s of warming are larger than assumed).

Thank you for the compliment. My family regards me as somewhat 'crazy' based on things like my long understanding of climate change. When they finally agree it exists, they just move on to something new to call me crazy for. I am doing what I can here on LJ, but I have an illness which takes me away from LJ sometimes. In no way am I accomplishing what I could have done if I hadn't gotten ill w/ CFS. I live a cursed life. So, if anyone in this community can also do what they can, or bring in new members, this would make me feel like I am having some effect. The world really needs influence from all the right people.

I appreciate that you care about climate change and I hope this can be translated into yourself having influence as well. Doing something can mean the difference between bad and really really bad.
