Ok I haven't really posted in a while

Been busy busy, especially with class starting today. Caught Ratatouille on Friday. It was pretty decent, but it felt quite a bit preachier than most Pixar movies I've watched, really trying to send home a message, and it isn't as funny as most Pixar movies. Reminded me a bit of Yakitate in the cooking aspect though, with the slight ridiculousness of it all. Been going around the bay area a bit, visited San Jose (which is really frickin' far away) for Grand Prix: San Francisco (doesn't really make sense, I know, it's "close enough" according to their definition at least), also went out yesterday to San Francisco itself. Walked through Chinatown to Fisherman's Wharf, which is a crazy long walk, albeit not uphill so that's slightly better. I mean, I'd visited SF (I do wonder what science fiction writers in San Francisco call themselves tho. SFSFwritersguild?) in May, but we drove at the time so I got to see more "walky" destinations this time. Came back to Berkeley at night, and tried this Indonesian-Singaporean restaurant, although the food was more Indonesian. Their "ice kachang" (which they labeled as "es shanghai" in the menu) was more like a bowl of coconut milk with chunks of ice and all the liao in it. They seriously need a better ice shaving machine.

Anyway, after updating all the slacking I've been doing (which is actually a lot more than I've actually written), I actually had class today. My first class was at 9, but I woke up at 7.20 to basically get ready.

HOW TO TAKE A SHOWER AND STILL STAY IN BED
by Lim Teng Chi

1. Take a shower and turn on the hot water
2. Discover there is no hot water
3. Shower as quickly as humanly possible, change and get back into your room
4. Wrap up in your blanket and hopefully warm up enough to prevent the onset of hypothermia

Anyway, after "staying in bed" a little while longer, it was like 8.10. So basically, either I could eat breakfast and walk to class, which would let me get there like 10-20 minutes earlier. Or I could skip breakfast, watch Frisky Dingo and Entourage, and get to class on Berkeley time (which means you can get to class 10 minutes after it's scheduled to start and it's officially on time, which means it's like SB1 time but more official). So, of course, I skipped breakfast, caught up with TV, then headed off to my first class, Film R1A, Writing with a film focus.

WHY YOU SHOULD SKIP BREAKFAST
By Lim Teng Chi

1. Your lecturers bring breakfast to class.

That was really nice of them, haha. I don't think they were expecting everyone to skip breakfast for Entourage, but I guess they understood college students. They discussed admin stuff, went over the syllabus (which is basically what happened for every other class), and we watched a short film, The Film of Her by Billy Morrison, and you can see the linky there, because that's where my lecturers got it, haha. We discussed it a bit, then I was off until one, which was my next class. L&S C30U/ECMPS 11: America and the Global Forest. Same thing as Film R1A basically, but no movie, although there will be one for the next two lessons. Had CS61A, Interpretation and Structures of Computer Programs, after that, which I must admit is scaring me a bit with the homework, but I think I shall cope. Now, I was supposed to have EE43, which I forget the official name of, afterward, but I discovered there are no lab lessons, which it is, in the first week of class. So my Monday, which normally ends at 6, ended at 3. Wheee.

Went out with the Singapore seniors after that, slacked around abit and had Korean for dinner, and now I'm back. I only have one 1.5 hour class tomorrow, so tomorrow is my ultra slack day. Which means it's the day I keep up with homework I guess, because I don't slack. Haha. I'm trying not to anyway. And so that was my first day of class, for all the world to see.
