Much as she puts him down and mocks him and jokes about him, she cares about him a lot. He was the first of the Gaang to accept her, and he acknowledges and respects her abilities as a bender despite how often she mocks his lack thereof. Overall, she's just really really glad she's got someone she knows and trusts there to watch her back.

Possible older version of Sokka. He certainly licks things enough, and is just as stubborn about things. TIME WILL TELL.

He seems a smart cookie, even if he's wound up tighter than a coiled Unagi. She thinks he's pretty level-headed, or does a pretty good job acting like it.

Yeah, they got off to a rough start, but after Neal smoothed things out, Toph thinks she could be all right. Though they'll have to figure out how to talk without a translator eventually.
