Or, if not free, damn close.
Freshly showered skin against freshly laundered sheets, face still absorbing the moisturiser, topsheet still warm from the dryer. A mug of hot cocoa, made from real cocoa and sugar, a good book, and my knitting. Mmmmmmmmm. There's not a whole lot that could make this better.
Stretching in the sun, talking with a friend, exchanging massages, cooking good meals to eat in good company, growing herbs in pots in the window, stopping to say hi to puppies in the street...
Simple pleasures are the best ones. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, and I'll keep saying it until the world starts to listen. Video games and SUVs and $12.00 to see movie and beer and Segways and hand-held wireless zone detectors and digital cameras and cell phones and television and expensive crockery and antique nicknacks are not the road to happiness. Simple pleasures are. They're hardest to take away, easiest to enjoy, and last to lose their charm.
Oh, and they're usually pretty much free.
