Hmmmmm

You know, I'm not entirely certain why I'm writing in this again.  I guess several things have made me want to pick up the proverbial paper and pen once more.  My sister is currently in Australia, and I set up an LJ for her.  One of the reasons that I did, was to remind her that it’s perhaps the best ways of storing memories, specifically of how you feel at the time.  Another was watching a few (OK, maybe half a season!) of Due South Episodes, in which Fraser reads from his Dad’s journal.  I think perhaps I’d like to record somewhere the thoughts in my head.  I just hope that I have some decent thoughts as opposed to the usual rubbish that floats around there.

Well, what has changed since I last posted?

Well, I’m now in the Police Force.  I’m independent, so I can drive a nice shiny car all by myself, and have been for over a year now.  In June I’ll be confirmed in rank (hopefully) and get a nice pay rise.

I’m living with Cathy now, and have been for about 3 weeks.  We’re still enjoying it, despite the smallness of the house and Cathy's inability to unpack.  The ability to have sex when we want is a nice bonus (sorry for those squeamish, but it IS part of my relationship!).  I’m on leave at the moment, so I’m home a lot.  Cathy’s still off round the country occasionally on numerous courses, so a couple of nights a week I don’t see her.  Still, that’s a huge difference from a couple of nights a week I DO see her.

Wedding is coming on well.  Just under four months to go.  Still need to send out the official invitations (Shadow, Gav, I’ll just send the one to Shadow, rather than one each!  Sorry, I’m cheap!).  Still need to sort out the ceremony and stuff of course, but that’s just Cathy being particualary picky about what happens.  I can’t complain really, I was picky about getting married in a church, so the least I can do is try and understand Cathy being picky about who actually marries us, and at what time.

We’re actually having two halves to the ceremony.  The official registrar dude will actually be marrying us (the whole “I do” thing), but (hopefully) the exchange of rings and vows will be done after the registrar dude has gone, and a friend of mine (Matt “The Hoff” Line) will be doing the officiating.  We originally wanted him to do it, as he is one of my best friends, and is quite spiritual.  He’s getting into the Shinto (Japanese) religion.  So I guess it’s no surprise if I mention that we train together!

However, since we asked, he’s gotten himself ordained on the internet at the Church of Seven Winds, Texas (I think).  Bless. I think he just wanted an excuse.  He’s also bought himself a title of nobility off the internet too, so he’s going to be “Lord, The Reverend Hoff” Personally I think it’s got a bit of a ring to it.

Damned if I’ll bow to him though.

Anyway, I need to shower soon, and if this entry gets too long, then people won’t actually bother reading it.  Not sure if I’ll continue writing.  I guess we’ll see how the mood takes me.  And whether I actually have something interesting to write about.
