Title: Broken Bones and Cinnamon Rolls
Pairing: Leena/Myka
Rating: G
Warnings: N/A
A/N: Perfect prompt was a perfect title. Hope you enjoy it.

“How’re you feeling?”

Myka blinked and turned her head towards the voice, holding back a wince. An ironic snort escaped her and she immediately regretted it as the agony soared. “Like I got thrown out a window,” she managed to grin at Leena who was shuffling nervously on her feet. Holding a tray in her hands, she perched on the edge of the bed revealing a plateful of cinnamon rolls and a glass of milk. She was gentle as she propped the tray on Myka's lap but she still looked a little lost.

Myka shifted up the mattress and closed her eyes in pain. She gritted her teeth and breathed through the as well as she could with three bruised ribs. She was lucky. When on an artifact hunt in North Dakota, the Warehouse agent had been pushed out of a two-storey floor window at a hospital in Minot by a man who owned the satchel prop from the 1993 crime film Falling Down. When Myka and Pete had politely asked the orderly to have a quick word with them, the man had lost it and shoved Myka, along with a trolley out of the open window. It turned out that one of the prop designers from the film had major anger issues, making the situation even more ironic. Myka knew that Pete would never in a million years let this go.

She opened her eyes to the sound of rustling and saw Leena popping out some of the prescribed painkillers. The innkeeper looked down sadly at Myka’s leg, pinned and caged, then up at the dislocated shoulder and the broken forearm in its blue cast. “Here…”

“Thanks…” Myka took a mouthful of the milk and swallowed down the pills, then patted the side of the bed next to her. Leena cautiously sat down, careful not to move her or cause any more pain. “Leena? You okay?”

There was silence for a long while until Leena spoke quietly. “You scared the crap out of us.”

“I know,” Myka murmured. “But I’m okay… been in worse scrapes before,” she wrinkled her nose.

Leena quirked her eyebrow at that and shook her head with a smile. She placed her hand on Myka’s unharmed wrist. “You scared the crap out of me.” she admitted solemnly.

Myka bit her lip and looked down at their joined hands, then back up to Leena’s tear-filled eyes. “I’m okay,” she stressed again. She looked around her bedroom and when she was pretty sure nobody was going to disturb them, slowly lifted Leena’s hand to her lips. “I promise you, I am okay…”

Leena sniffed and nodded. Her hand tingled from the soft kiss and her eyes darted skittishly around the room. Heart pounding in her chest, she soon realized nobody was going to come in. Nobody would suspect anything; everything was okay.

She noticed Myka blinking back at her in concern and finally grinned. “Eat your pastries then… Took me all day to make.”

Myka let out a laugh, the coughed at the ache of her ribs but in spite of the pain, lifted one of the treats to her lips and took a big bite. They were amazing. Sweet and sticky, but crispy at the same time. How Leena managed to pull it off, she'd never know. She didn't even think she wanted to know. She always pretended that the hospitable woman threw a little magic into her cooking.
Myka sighed and finished off her glass of milk with a smack of the lips. Her painkillers were already kicking in and she wasn't exactly surprised when Leena had given up watching her finish the plate halfway and had curled up next to her in the bed. She wasn't too shocked either when the stressed out innkeeper promptly fell asleep as Myka shared a portion of her pillow. Then again she wasn't really complaining. She reached out and tucked a lock of hair behind the sleeping woman's ear. Not at all.

Eeee. I am so in love with this! Though I haven't really read much of this ship, this has to be my favorite Myka/Leena fic. I adore the way you portrayed their relationship, especially the subtle subtext-but-kind-of-still-canon-y stuff in there. It was awesome. ♥
