change in plans
Blizzard #2 is bearing down on Denver, so United started shuffling flights early. Anybody scheduled to fly 12/27-12/30 was encouraged to get out early or change plans somehow to avoid more messes. My flight was Saturday (12/30) at 6:30 am. Between now and then we're supposed to get another 18" of snow, and this is the heavy wet shit that's going to cause all sorts of trouble. It's supposed to stop sometime late Friday night, meaning flights Saturday morning seem to be a sketchy proposition right now. To be safe I rescheduled for Sunday morning. Things should be moving by then, and this way I'm not competing w/ people bumped Friday for open slots on Sunday. I have one fewer days in LA this way, but one fewer nights in a hotel to pay for as well. Seeing as how I'm probably moving by the end of January, I need to save the money, eh?
Just out of curiosity, I checked availability at the Westin down the block from the venue. Turns out that with the cheaper van service they offer (rather than a cab) it is actually a better deal to stay there than at the Comfort Inn I had booked through Travelocity. So fuck Comfort Inn. I'm staying in downtown LA at the Westin Bonaventure. Between the 6:30 am flight, sightseeing in LA, and the 4+ hour concert starting at 8 p.m. I'm gonna sleep some good that night. 2007 will be a better year.
