[Lottie had set her communicator on her desk, and without realizing that it would turn on, dumped her lesson plan notebooks on top. The spiral-bound books slide off though, revealing Lottie sitting down at her desk and going through a small pile of mail. If someone had good eyes, they might be able to make out that one of the return addresses is from New Orleans, from an Eli La Bouff.
She reads eagerly, smiling a bit as his letter recounts (vaguely, as not to confuse her or give out too much information) his good business affairs. The smile grows into a grin as she reads about the cooling weather, Stella, and the earliest preparations for the annual Winter Gala. At one point she even giggles at her father's humorous writing. Or, at least, it was funny to her.] Oh, Daddy!
[However, the curl of her lips falters completely as she reaches the end of the letter, her face dropping from it's cheery form into solemn melancholy. She's silent for a few very long seconds.] ...Oh, Daddy...
[He still hadn't seen hide nor hair of Tiana or Naveen, and neither had the other townsfolk. As the news sinks in, a hopelessness washes over her features, tinged with the slightest bit of mourning. She, of course, refused to believe that either of her friends were Misted away, or worse... dead. No, she couldn't believe it. It just wouldn't work in her mind.
The blonde sighs, looking forlornly at the letter.]
First Tia and Naveen disappear and they still haven't returned home... and even Mistah Proteus is gone too now.. What's happenin' t'this world...?
[Thunk! Her forehead falls onto the wooden desk, and she moans a little bit, whispering:]
It's jus' not fair...!
[A sniffle, and she turns her head... only to see that the light on the comm is on.]
Oh, horse feathahs! [Wide eyed and grimacing, she frantically flails into an upward position and reaches for the thing, fumbling around with it until it's properly off again.]
