[With the recent news of the Mist recession (and New Orleans freeing up), Lottie hastened to check her mailbox; it seems Big Daddy had already written hours and hours earlier, before the Mirror got hold of the news. He's still planning to throw a very special yearly event! With this great news in mind, Lottie busies herself with hanging up fliers

Have a mildly embarrassed Andy giving you a call.]
Um.Miss La Bouff? I don't have any formal-wear. Does the school have anything I can use?
Reply
[...Wait a second.] Say, are you new here?
Reply
[He nods.] I got here a little over a week ago, met some interesting people.
Anyway, I'm Andy. [He'd shake your hand if this was in person.]

Welcome t'th'Academy, then!
I'm Charlotte La Bouff, student and dance teachah. I'm so happy you want t'come t'th'Gala! Oh, it's jus' goin' t'be th'bees knees!
Reply
Thanks, it's nice to meet you.
You can be both? Student and teacher, I mean? [That perks his interest quite a bit. Also wow, you've got some enthusiasm in you, Lottie.] I'll probably be glad to be there. How many do you think might show up?
Reply
Well, sure! But I s'pose you have t'know what you're talkin' 'bout when you're teachin'. And oh, probably a thousand or more or so. Th'Gala's an annual shindig Big Daddy throws; th'Academy jus' gets t'come 'cause I'm invitin' it!

You must be a great dancer, then~
[Whoa.] That sounds kind of intimidating.

Oh, it's not so bad. You say your "good evenin's" and "how do you dos" and shake hands and talk small talk. It's actually easy, though a l'il borin' when you do it all night long as part of th'hostin' family. 'Course, I know Big Daddy likes that sort of stuff, and I'm certain I'll be sneakin' out of th'crowd to squeeze in some waltzes, tangos, and foxtrots with th'menfolk.

Alright. It sounds pretty fun, actually. [Though he might end up spending the night on sidelines.]
Reply
Oh, it is! There's goin' t'be all sorts of things t'do, so I doubt you'll have a dull moment. [Lottie would never allow that. She'll make sure he gets at least one dance in.]

Like food and DJs and stuff?[Shrug.]I've never been to an actual Gala before.
Reply
Well, we will have quite th'assortment of food, but no DJ. We have a live jazz band playin' for everyone. But there's also tree lightin' and socializin' and Christmas spirit; plus, you're right smack dab in N'ahlans if th'Gala really isn't your thing and you'd rathah do somethin' else.

That sounds great!
[He always loves concerts, even if it's music that he isn't in a habit of listening to on his own; tree lighting and food he already knew about and liked; and New Orleans?] I haven't been there before, but what I've heard sounds interesting.
[He's a lot more excited than he lets on. He's never really traveled before--New York for collage and Ireland on a vacation when he was a kid--but he loved it both times.
This is going to be awesome.]

Oh, it's th'most wondahful place! There's always music playin' somewhere, and th'city's alive with all sorts of folks, and food, and entertainment, and oh! You should see it in spring durin' Mardi Gras! Everythin's decorated, and there's parades, and masked balls, and it's jus' th'bees knees!
[Not to even mention the speakeasies!]
Reply
[Smile and a little laugh.] It sounds amazing. I'll try to go there then, too.
I can't wait until Sunday.
[He wouldn't.
Well.
Not unless someone dragged him there.]
Reply
Oh, you're goin' t'have a blast! I can jus' tell.
[...Well, Lottie always cou--- Naw. Poor kid doesn't look like he'd be able to hold his liquor.]
