... that if you wanna enjoy adult-like goodies such as mature relationships, husbands, families and kids you gotta give up child-like goodies such as Sponge Bob Squarepants, whistling and sleeping blankies.

Oh, Dr. Phil, I get what you say about transitional objects but please don't tell me you buy into that crap about giving up your goofy habits & childish likes in order to able to take responsibility of your life. Of course, this could be a cultural difference - we live in a country where even adults are allowed to make funny paper hats out beer cartons.

The sleeping blankie girl was, by the way, the coolest guest I've ever seen on Dr. Phil. Actually, to give him some credit, Dr. Phil seemed to agree. He told her never to lose her attitude but to "move on to the next level, to refine her interests". I'm not sure, man, it sounds as artificial as the division into popular culture and high-brow culture. Tru-intellectuals dig it all :)

Did I ever tell you that I love Dr. Phil? I do, we don't agree about a lot of things, but he's still in my cool books. Even if he wants to "bring family back into America".
