Sleep is becoming my favorite thing ever.
Sunday into yesterday was the last shoot of my class's production, which I had hoped would be an awesome experience. Parts of it were neat, but overall I found myself... not very happy with it. Mostly that had to do with being stuck in the role of a PA and sitting outside with no one to talk to for hours on end. For the last three hours or so I was inside a dirty truck in the cold, with the most comfortable possible position being leaning against a bag of furniture pads hung high on the wall. The truck faced away from the building we were shooting in and was halfway down the street, so no one from the production even passed by for those three hours. I could go on, but I won't.
I came home and pretty much flopped down in my bed... and wound up having nightmares. The one I remember involved my family being suddenly very religious and my purchasing a used copy of one of the books True Blood is based on, which the previous owner had written in things like "Bill is so sexy!" My mother found it and decided my soul needed urgent saving, which lead to me arguing that I had a right to my own beliefs. They eventually got so forceful about it that I gave up, and told them I would go along with everything - but that if they continued, at a certain point I would burn my room, with myself in it. (I am very dramatic in my dreams.) For a moment my mother was scared, but then she decided saving my soul in a religious manner was more important than saving my physical self. (I guess she forgot that suicide is supposed to result in non-savior, sooo...) There was also a part where she brought me to an old slaughterhouse, which stray dogs and cats had taken up residence in - which horrified me, because there were cockroaches everywhere, and the animals were crawling with parasites that were killing them, but my mother refused to do anything for them.
And because of all this I ended up oversleeping. A lot! But I couldn't completely regret it, because after that I finally had a good dream. It involved Dark Angel, Dollhouse, Iron Man, and the Jonas Brothers. (...Yeah, the Jonas Brothers.) I needed a chance to write it down before doing other stuff.
The central figure of my dream was Max of Dark Angel, though her name in my dream was Georgie instead. (Heh.) The Pulse had never happened, and the X-5s had never escaped. For those not familiar with the series, that just means a bunch of genetically engineered super-soldiers that were very fast, very strong, and had superior senses and little need for sleep stayed in the possession of the company they were created in. As they became teenagers, the company (which I don't think was named Manticore in my dream, but instead Union Corp...?) exported them to a tropical island sort of location and televised their competitions (while somehow preventing people from realizing they were genetically modified super-soldiers); Georgie was among the fastest, and thus often won the races. By eighteen she was a favorite and dating another of the favorites, Alpha (yes, from Dollhouse). She was pregnant with his child, but before she even began to show something went terribly wrong - involving Alpha going crazy, of course - and she miscarried and ran away with other soldiers.
They lived peacefully among other people for a while, but then the company started to hunt them down. They had to gather to protect themselves, and they all came to Georgie, who was the most powerful of them and thus the most trusted. She kept them safe for a while, but eventually they were discovered, and subdued with a taser-like device that caused so much pain in them that they would immediately pass out. Georgie herself was taken by a company couple that could barely stop fighting (over whether or not the wife was religious enough; the man may have been Alpha gone super-religious) long enough to hit her. When she woke up, the head of the company used some kind of mind-control machinery to keep her from passing out, and used the taser-thing to torture her until she was dead.
Or appeared to be! Someone with more advanced mind-control technology had undone what the company had done, and she had just passed out; the company took it for granted, though, and assumed her dead. When she woke up, she killed them all.
The problem was, the other person had no greater intentions for her, and was merely beginning a game; by invading her mind he had implemented a sort of program that would cause her to lose her memory and pass out every few weeks or months, and her wiped brain would have only one mission in mind: go to him. All across the world super-soldiers and other people with similar abilities would suddenly forget everything about themselves and do everything they could to get to him, and no one noticed until a group of children started swimming across an ocean to get there - there being where he was, protected by a man-made glacier/ice berg. Their trip was televised, until they became frustrated with the reporter and cameraman, as they were slowing them down, and killed them.
Georgie could usually remember herself before she got far, but it started to get worse each time. She, too, found herself swimming into the ocean, but ran across a yacht- one that belonged to Tony Stark. This was, however, a Tony who had not yet created the Iron Man suit, and who was afraid, because the same man who was after Georgie and the others was after him, and always knew where he was, because he could track down his brain wave pattern. (...I don't know if that even makes sense, but that's what my dream said.) They sort of fell in love, but Tony left her, afraid that the track on his brain would lead to her capture once it was discovered that they were together.
Georgie went on, and again came across a boat when mindlessly swimming the ocean - but this one exploded right in front of her, and a telepathic Joe Jonas barely made it out alive. You see, in my dream he and his family had quit music-making early on, and he had gotten married, and they used their money to buy a great big Jonas boat. All the Jonases - Kevin (unmarried), Joe, Nick, Frankie, their parents, Joe's wife and two children, and their newest young brother that doesn't really exist - lived on the boat, happily so until the same man after Tony and Georgie discovered them and tried to get at them. When he couldn't, he instead turned the boat's engine into a bomb. Joe learned of this only just before it happened, and couldn't stop it. He survived, but all he could save was some of the furniture. He bought another boat, but it happened again - this time, with Georgie seeing it - and all that survived then was a desk, which she got for him before saving him from drowning. He (stupidly!) bought another boat, which they lived on, because apparently Georgie loved life at sea or something. They fell sort of in love, but were even more reluctant about it, but Joe didn't leave her.
Instead, she was captured.
The man after them all had finally figured out a way to almost completely take apart her mind, and so she was within the walls of his fortress-type-thing before she could get her mind back. Nonetheless, it was huge, and she stayed just out of his grasp for a long time. In that time, Tony was captured, too, and the man found out that Joe was lurking just beyond the glacier/ice berg, trying to find a way in... and basically teased him with possible openings until he couldn't take it anymore and did whatever he could to make it in, even leaving the boat behind. (I don't know why the guy didn't just blow it up again, but there you go.) In the process of all this, he - the guy after them all - had brainwashed the other soldiers and excavated what Georgie had left behind of the company, which included a fast cloning process. There was a clone of Georgie, too, which she tried to save from him when it was an infant, but when it grew older (rapidly!) it turned against her. And still he wanted her, the original Georgie. He find a way to not just take apart a mind, but take apart her physical body, which could keep her from moving, essentially - because she always reanimated right where she was taken apart. She started to gain some mental control over that, too, though, because it was more a mind-thing than a body-thing, and could prevent it from happening for too long.
The side-effect was that cells that had left her body came back to it. Mostly that didn't have much effect, except that old egg cells came back to her... and two had been fertilized ones that just didn't attach to her uterine lining. So, yeah, basically she was suddenly pregnant with both Tony and Joe's children.
Tony escaped, only to meet up with Joe, and they both had a "What? You're here for Georgie, too? You're in love with her, too?!" moment. Except Tony had no idea who Joe Jonas was, and Joe knew who Tony Stark was. And then they were both captured... again.
Only this time, they sort of figured out the time line of things, and discovered that between Georgie's last encounter with the guy and her first with Tony, she had been captured by another man, a sort-of-good-guy who I guess kind of resembled Batman and who this guy considered a rival. They put it all together - this guy, who had been playing games with her and desperate to get her while she was still alive, was in love with her, too. In a really twisted way. And they said, yeah, that rival guy - she'd probably slept with him. (No way to show your love better than implying that the woman you're mad for slept with someone else, I guess?) That pissed him off. He kept them alive to bring her to them, because he knew she'd come for them, but then he set them free - and set people after them. He was confidant she'd come to fight him first, rather than chase down Tony and Joe. He was right - sort of. She had seen the tail-end of this and ended up between them, and he held a gun up at her - and she thought he might actually shoot her, so she fought him until she was sure he couldn't right away and then ran after them.
...and then I think at some point she killed him, and they found out she was pregnant (but weren't sure with whose child), and I woke up.
IT WAS AWESOME OKAY? I liked it, at least.
