Florida 2012
I just came back from a 10 day trip to the Sunshine State of Florida with the lovely boyfriend. We spent the first 4 days in Orlando and the last 6 in Miami. It was a good time to get away from school and life and just spend careless days reliving childhood memories and soaking up some sun.
I finally went to Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida! I know, I've had a deprived childhood since I've never been before .. but better late than never right?! We only went to Magic Kingdom out of all the parks, but it was definitely a good choice. Filled with the classics - Mickey Mouse and Disney Princesses. The details in the parks were phenomenal. I must admit, majority of the rides were fairly childish - but that's totally understandable and expected. The afternoon parade, light parade and fireworks by Cinderella's castle made the experience that much more memorable.
We then spent 2 days at Universal Orlando - which was a perfect amount of time to go through Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. This was more age appropriate for us I suppose. I have found my favourite kind of amusement park rides - it's not the roller coasters anymore - it's those 4D adventure type rides ... I don't even know what they're classified under! My favourite ride would have to be the Harry Potter ride through Hogwarts - it was absolutely spectacular. I honestly felt like I was submerged into the Wizarding World. The other rides of that nature were also all amazing - the spiderman one, the simpsons one and the despicable me ride as well! Surprisingly as well, the multiple shows we watched were all very entertaining. It was definitely a lot of fun - I would really like to go to the other Universal parks around the world to check them all out!
After Orlando, we journeyed towards Miami where we stayed with Jeff's aunt & uncle. I am so thankful for their hospitality (which reminds me, I should make some thank you cards!). They drove us around, fed us and entertained us well for the 6 days we were there. We mostly spent the time to relax, did a little shopping, hit up the beach and the pool at the Hard Rock Resort as well. Overall, a very nice time spent in Miami! I will definitely be returning after I turn 21... I feel vey restricted in the States being "underaged". It's even more frustrating because Im totally legal back home!
