week 3ish
yeah so i kind of sucked at updating for awhile there, i was out of town give me a break. actually that's not excuse i was online constantly. but anyhow.
kentucky won the game, but not after i'd given up listening and only found out much after the fact that they'd pulled off some kind of miracle. but i'll take it and i wore my kentucky sweatshirt with pride in the louisville airport :) on sunday i hit up hamburg with ambre and we actually had a pretty productive christmas shopping trip for maybe the first time in like our five year tradition. usually it's more of just walking around chatting, but this time christmas presents got crossed off the list! amazing huh. monday i think was a dead day and i sat around and did nothing. tuesday, right before leaving naturally, meant last minute things. but i went shopping with wusi at the mall in the afternoon, visited becky and will with ambre late afternoon, and then shopped again w/wusi that night. gave wusi her christmas present which she opened and promptly rewrapped in the plastic bag and stuck under the tree :) will was adorable and by far has the funniest laugh i've heard ever come out of anything. and my parents are impossible to shop for. got up pretty early to head to louisville and of course, the snow starts cascading down just as we hit the outskirts of town. like seriously, if my aunt didn't have a truck we'd have been slipping and sliding everywhere. not only that though, but our flight to dallas had been cancelled and we were rerouted through o'hare, with a 4 hour layover. LOVELY. but o'hare had fine weather, which is a first of all firsts. the flight out of sdf took its sweet time though, since the freezing rain started down and after maybe an hour or so sitting in the plane while we waited out the weather and the de-icing, we headed off. at o'hare we had to switch terminals b/c we had changed airlines which mean not only travelling to another terminal but also going through the ticket counter and security and getting the full random frisk. swell. still got there with plenty of time to spare so i managed to read about 400 pages of owen meany that afternoon/night. got to orange county around 10:30, picked up the rental, and got to my aunt and uncle's house. the usual three were there with alex so i hung out with them some before going to bed. thursday was a boy's day and all of us plus michelle and chris and my aunt went out to help the guys pick out their presents and go to the arcade. which was fun, i tried a small bite of an in n out burger and ate a good box of fries. but then my mom called with amber and so i left the little ones and went with her and her mom and mine to south coast which was really not what i would have liked to have done. south coast two days before christmas is painful. and i was tired kind of and not in any mood to shop. which is a shame b/c it is south coast, but oh well, too late now. went back and attempted making pizzas with the little ones. christmas eve was pretty low key, the last two cousins came after their wednesday flight had been cancelled and we all just kind of played until dinner time when we headed to alex's and enjoyed the usual appetizers and sit down dinner. i ate what i could and then left to go play with the kids. not much really of interest that christmas eve, i discovered that i'm just not meant for the guitar. there wasn't the usual opening of presents since there weren't really that many and any that were the kids decided to just take home. and then we went back to the house and slept before christmas morning when around 9 the presents i had beautifully wrapped were destroyed and about 20 minutes later christmas was really basically over for all of us. they played games, i just kind of chilled and completely forgot it was christmas for awhile. bummer. sunday my aunt went shopping at 6 in the morning. we had my grandmother's birthday lunchish. monday my aunt took all the kids minus michelle and chris to use their money although they didn't really and most of the time was spent at the arcade. tuesday i went shopping with my aunt and we had a good time, i bought a few small things and we had a good lunch at this seafood place. and then i went back and packed and woke up at freaking 4:30 the next morning to catch our 7:30 flight. got back to sdf around 4:30 and then had to drive back to lexington. still snowy in lville, actually pretty warm in the lex. got home and watched a little bit of the uk game before i went to caroline's where we sat around and talked with her mom, her mom's friend, and matt and kelly. then they all kind of left and i helped caroline pack, made a button, and got to talk to her for a little while before she had to hit the hay since her flight was early. and then yesterday i got my THIRD thanksgiving :) first i spent some time with kendra, went by coley's for a bit to pick up something, then to hamburg to meet up with gomathie and annika for a little shopping and shakes. then back to the christensens where her parents, kamber, joe, coley, kendra and i had turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, green bean casserole, and stuffing. then went home and did laundry and now it's friday, and i'm still trying to figure out what's going on tonight. well not really, i figure i'll start calling around in an hour or so and seeing how i'm going to see out 2004 and bring on 2005. so there's about a week left of my break, the peronsal statement has still yet to be stated, i haven't been up to louisville yet, i've seen very little of goms (who's leaving tomorrow!), wusi, eli (who is in JERSEY visting COLLEGE FRIENDS. HELLO? you just SAW them), leslie (who's back in town?), stef, and well everyone else really. swell. alright, off to get myself ready for the last day of this 2004 year.
