just to keep life lighter

i guess i'll do the update on happenings this time. first off though, mcat scores are supposed to be posted this week so this could get hectic. needless to say, i've had a nightmare about how i did, and it wasn't pretty, especially considering the part i completely aced doesn't even exist (math). i'm really optimistic but that's just me not wanting to think about what hell i'm going to go through if things aren't optimistic. oh, and this whole "will be posted the week of october 12" thing is driving me nuts. seriously. just give me a day.

my week of three tests went by. i was completely exhausted afterwards, just overall achy from having to think so damn hard and scribble down so damn much. i guess i'll get stuff back next week, along with the mcat scores. yay for ratings on my life.

so despite my mother's attempt to make me feel bad for not coming home for fall break, fall break at duke has been quite enjoyable. it's helped that the roomie is here, b/c nights alone on central would probably be a little unsettling w/o her. but anyway. friday after classes i picked up omaira and we spent a good like two hours in walmart (i miss my superwalmart) picking up stuff here and there. then i went outbacking w/nina and enjoyed a dimly lit dinner and the waiter who asked us if we were CAROLINA girls. please. went over to west b/c omaira was on call for craven but after losing out on the commons room to a couple guys watching saved, we ditched the quad and went over to the media room in the wel. totally awesome, satc on the big screen, a little poker over the presidential debate (i totally would have won money), and then more satc and telling people that sorry, but we got there first. wormholed back to omaira's room (seriously, that staircase was in like another dimension), and then headed back to central. saturday nina went to greensboro so i attempted to do work which didn't really amount to much outside of a three hour nap. she came back and we southernized her even more w/dinner at bojangles. blockbuster was an experience too, and we picked up omaira and spent the night feeding her newly found addiction to alias. i think we got through like 4 1/2 episodes. went to bed a little late considering we wanted to leave early the next morning but oh well, it worked out eventually. drove out to wilmington/wrightsville beach and really, kentucky needs a beach, i think the last time i went to the beach was panama city summer after freshmen year. TOO LONG. so i basically made the girls wade in the water with me until our time on the parking meter went out and we decided it was time to eat. took shelby's advice and went to the south beach grille, after which we decided we were too stuffed to beach it so we headed to downtown wilmington instead. woulda been nicer had it not been sunday and things were closed but we found a couple cool shops that amused us long enough. went back to the beach and used up the rest of our quarters for like an 90 minutes of parking time. had a nice enjoyable time until we were pleasantly surprised by the water inundating us and killing my cd player. took that as a sign (and the fact that our parking was running out) that the beach was done with us so we headed out and went to the mall where omaira got the hugest icee ever. after that, stopped by a surf shop, and then finally had dinner before we headed back around 7:30 and got back around 10. we convinced omaira to stay another night over and continued with the alias marathon. so monday i drove her back over to west and tried to work but basically failed once again. damn the work being due NEXT week. talked to marc a little while he drove back and then further didn't work by spending time with him when he did. then went over to west and met up with todd, reeslund, and omaira, and we made a trip to raleigh to intro todd and omaira to the cheesecake factory. and we all know how desperate i was to go to the cheesecake factory before so i don't think i need to say anything about that. but the company was excellent, scary as it might have been for nina, and it was definitely a fun group to go out with.

so now in hopes of saving this fall break and being productive-- i'm off to laundry, kroger, and hopefully CLEAN. we'll see.
