Author's Notes: This is set after the first game of the Blue Jays series, the Red Sox won 1-0, breaking a five game losing streak. You probably have to be a Sox fan living in Massachusetts to even get this one, but it cracked me up.
They had needed that win so badly. The streak was getting long, people were getting worried. There was a current of electricity in the clubhouse, the kind of electricity that came after relief. It was about time their best weapon was used. That was how to close a game, just like they knew he could when asked to. And he was overdue to be asked to. Congratulations floated around them, but were only smiled at briefly. But then he caught him coming towards them out of the corner of his eye.
"Do it, Mikey, and I’ll break your other hand."
