Terrorism. Simple nude terrorism.
These events happened in July but details are starting to appear only now. Simply - special services of the Russian Federation tried to organize the airline crash over the Atlantic. Simply tried to explode cargo plane between Europe and North America. Or in other words - behaved like al-Qaeda, ISIS and some other infamous organizations. It also is known that this "operation" started in Lithuania.
So, only very few details are known. Information was kept in secrecy, while a few days ago, the Wall Street Journal made this information public for the first time.
So what do we know? On July 19 some guy entered one of the service points of world famous parcel delivery company DHL in Lithuania and ordered to send two parcels: one to the UK and second to Germany. They were checked and were sent according to the addresses given. But on the night of July 21-22 both those parcels exploded: one in the Leipzig distribution centre in Germany while another in the Birmingham distribution centre in the UK. According to the Wall Street Journal, the parcels were planned to be resent to the USA and needed to explode in DHL cargo planes over the Atlantic.
Supposedly the guy who sent the parcels in Lithuania presented himself as a Russian citizen having residence permit and living in Germany. According to the former head of State Security Department of Lithuania G. Grina, the guy presented himself as Igor Prudnikov while it was established that his real name is Alexander Suranov, he really is a Russian citizen and he works for the Russian FSB. Prosecutor General of Lithuania N. Grunskiene indirectly confirmed that this guy was arrested by Lithuanian special services and is kept "in isolation". She also indirectly confirmed that there are more people arrested in Lithuania. Some arrests were made in other countries too. However, she is refusing to provide any more precise information since most of the case details are still classified.
So we will wait how the situation will evolve.
