Removing errors of the past

One of the most characteristic properties of Kaunas is the confluence of two biggest rivers in the country (and not only, e.g. our biggest river Nemunas would be the biggest in Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark as well :) But the designers of the past did not exploited this privilege. For them it was ony industrial city situated in relatively favourable place. (Try only to imagine Paris without Seine, London without Thames, Petersburg without Neva and even Berlin without Spree ...)
It seems that slowly this city is starting to correct errors of the past: more and more often new projects are coming closer to the rivers. E.g. today I was close to the new residential apartment complex Kaunorama:

The project will have three 16 stories residential apartment buildings near Nemunas not far away from center:

What's bad with the project that all three buildings are identical. And they makes sharp contrast with the environment. Many years later may be the contrast willl dissapear but this will require many years likely.

At moment the first tower grows up while the second is in the initial stage:

Piliamiestis quarter at the confluence of the Nemunas and Neris moves forward:

The project started 5 years ago as project with 11 houses but now becomes bigger and bigger. In principle quality slightly deteriorates but this is not so bad project overall:

Finally the first cranes were observed on the other side of Nemunas river right in front of the downtown more than month ago. Few weeks ago there were two cranes:

Now the third one appeared:

This project has the potential to become the good one. Very important factor that developer is really serious company with proven record of good projects:

Anyway the good thing that all those projects moves the city closer to the rivers. That's without doubt the good thing
