In recent years in Lithuania became popular to seek various records using Christmas as the pretext. Probably this started at the eve of 2000 when Vilnius decorated TV tower before Christmas and declared this as the "tallest Christmas tree in the world". This provoked various record seekers (several years ago I remember that in "Akropolis" shopping-leisure center was built biggest "tree" made from ... champagne bottles). This year the main nail in this siege is the ... biggest ecological Christmas tree in world in Town hall square in Kaunas. The word ecological is rather strange in this context since this "tree" is made from ... plastic PET type bottles (ecological means that after the celebrations this "tree" will be recycled). Results are not ordinary but interesting:
Let's see how it looks.
The landscape type view (it was said that tree was built using 30000 PET bottles):
I need to admit that this "tree" looks really nice in the evenings and nights when lights are turned on. The closer look to the elements of this "tree":
Small but natural Christmas tree inside this creation:

All other decorations in the old town this year are made from plastic bottles: the action to encourage the recycling of wastes:
Plastics in the real trees:)
May be you want to sit on this PET bottles bench ?
Some creation:
I was sceptical at first when heard this idea. But today I need to admit that it looks interesting, exotic and nice. And as one commentator said :" it's for sure that the biggest ecological Christmas "tree" in the world will be shown on CNN, BBC, NHK , etc. And this is the cheapest way to get worldwide attention :)) "
