Kaunas Aleksotas airport

Several days ago I had the occasion to walk around old Kaunas airport - one of the oldest airports in Europe. Despite the fact that more than 20 years ago main aviation activities moved to the Karmėlava airport at the outskirts of the town old airport is still used for the sports and small aviation.
Typically people calls it Aleksotas airport.  ( Read more... )

In minsk old airport is inside the city, distance between streets and landing strip is extreme too.
Very interesting fact about airports I've found few days ago: in Ukraine, in city Uzhgorod (Ужгород) landing and flying up airplanes use Slovakian air area, because that airport locates in 100 meters of the Ukrainian-Slovakian border.
