This was probably the ideal situation for that to happen, too.
Anyway, I'm always experimenting with different cast cycles and trinkets and the like to see if I can up my damage output. Last week, I tried a macro swap of idols every time I casted Starfire and Wrath. (The Moonfire idol swap wasn't terribly viable since changing an idol in combat triggers the global cooldown.) It gave me about a 1% increase in damage done.
This week, I thought I'd try keeping the Moonfire idol on and just rely on the proc for that. I'll have to look into the actual combat log for the numbers to see how I did and if it was worth it. I have to say though, it was droolteim when I saw my idol proc, popped my trinket, and then landed a Starfire crit for 6.2k.

- I was fully buffed (food, flask, oil).
- I had the thirty-minute Salv.
- I used my trinket every time it came up.
- I didn't have to battle rez.
- I never went OOM.
- I didn't get watertombed.
