March 3rd was the 1 year anniversary of Jared's wonderful Always Keep Fighting campaign. For a solid 24 hours my TL on Twitter was extra full of love and appreciation for Jared and everything he has done to shine a spotlight on depression and other mental health issues. Check out the
#1YearOfAKF tag for all the love from so many fans all around the world.
Jared went live on FB to celebrate AKF's 1st birthday and
launch AKF5 and it's probably one of my favourite vids he's done so far. Jared was so emotionally open that I was in tears. He actually had to compose himself at the beginning, taking a few seconds and saying "I'm a professional, I'm supposed to be able to do this," showing us a side of himself we very rarely get to see. In interviews and at cons, Jared is always so upbeat and assured and very rarely at a loss for words, almost hyper at times and I love that part of him. But what I think I love even more is being given a very precious glimpse of Jared that perhaps only his family and close friends get to witness. That he is willing enough to show us this side tells me that he also thinks SPNFamily is so much more than just a catch-phrase and hash-tag.
It's also why I've connected so deeply to his AKF campaign. With Jared personally affected by the very issues he's talking about, it feels very personal and intimate. He has touched my heart in ways I never thought possible and for that I will be forever grateful to him and his wonderful campaign.
Goin live to announce some awesome stuff!#AKFrepresent.com/jared
