All I want for christmas is the pretty boy I met last night.
*sigh*
So, I went out last night with all the old crew. It was a blast. My friend Erin said she was going to bring her little brother, I said no problem, thinking he was some dorky kid brother who would just be happy to hang out and get to drink beer. I was so wrong.
Let me back track. Christmas Day was fun. I got David Garza in my stocking. Well, his box set, not him, though that would have been pretty fabulous but I don't think he would fit. He's a tall guy. And I got some DVDS and some clothes and some pajamas and some jewelry. So that was all cool. I talked to Aims and woke her up and then I talked to some other old friends of mine. Renee' called, said she was in town, so we proceed to get a hold of everyone to have a night out.
Bringing me back to the original point of this post. I'm playing pool, looking saucy with a stick in one hand and a beer in the other, and from behind I hear Erin squeal with delight. I had not seen her in almost 6 years, so after much requisite girly screaming and hugging, I notice over her shoulder the best pair of eyes I have ever experienced, shyly gazing around. It was a mixture of Jake Gyllenhall and a rumpled look of sex. Erin introduces me to her "baby brother". He was beautiful and I'm thinking to myself ...just let him be stupid, because if this boy has one ounce of charm, I'm done for. Needless, to say, I'm done for. He lives in Austin, he just graduated culinary school, he's smart, he's funny, he's adorable, he's 22 and so very trainable.We spent the evening ignoring all of the people I was there to see and we held hands and looked at each other with the deep long stares you only see in movies and I was lost. So what's the problem?
Not only is he still technically married but he also has a girlfriend. So hear I sit, with his kiss still on my cheek, and his smell in my hair, and it's one more case of being a little too late and a town to short.
Love at first sight never works out.
