ouch!

so my acid reflux has not been this bad in I don't know how long. The thing is, I wasn't even feeling it in bed. I know I've been stressed, but I haven't really been feeling heart burn.

Not feeling it in bed? No visible heart burn? How then, you ask, did I know there were problems?

I drank a glass of water...
and as soon as it hit my stomache,
I thought someone was trying to cut me open from the inside out.
I wasn't really sure if I was going to vomit or pass out, but fortunately, neither occured.

I'd say that I can't wait until tomorrow when my papers are turned in, but that's not even going to matter so much. By Tuesday, things should be ok. And by ok, I mean the clear and present danger is over only to be replaced by 9-5 grind of studying for comps(or so I hope).

But until then...

I must...

1) finish my stats paper by noon tomorrow.

2) WRITE my seminar paper and turn in by 3:30 tomorrow.

3) meet with my undergrads to fix scoring inconsistencies that we THOUGHT had already been taken care of..

4) go to mandatory social hour with our undergrads from 4-6 tomorrow. As this means my adviser is picking up the tab at the bar, it would normally be a good thing, but given the state of my stomache I won't be able to look at a drink without going into pain.

5) compile all the adventures that Flat Stanley has taken during his MUCH EXTENDED visit as school ends for my cousin next week and I must have everything in overnight mail on Monday. He sent it to me in October and it said to "send back as soon as possible." This would not be bad if I had kept up better with it while the adventures were occuring, but as that was not the case, I'll have to sit meticulously with a calendar to determine exactly what we did and when. I expect this to take much of Friday evening and Saturday, if not LONGER. :(

6) department party at my adviser's house on Saturday evening. Highlight of this will be free food. which should be a pretty good spread and will probably be the best meal I have until I get to Greensboro, as I'm so broke I can ONLY eat what is already in my apartment. I may make an exception and get a gallon of milk, some saltines, and maybe some cheap produce from Aldi's to get me through the next week and a half.

7) clean my apartment in the event someone (namely the new grad student) needs to see my apartment early in the week while apartment hunting.

8) get all of my articles filed in the office, so that I can navigate them while creating my "pile of shame", which in theory should save me some trouble by preventing me from making duplicate copies.

9) finish sorting through abstracts so I know exactly what articles I NEED to have in the "Pile of Shame".

10) summon all articles needed to the "Pile of Shame" and plan out my summer in terms of how much needs to be read and how quickly.

All in the hopes of starting to read on Tuesday so I can get myself into a routine by Saturday when I leave for Greensboro. Oh yeah, and let's not forget, I need to start programming next week too!!!

AUGH!! If I weren't so broke, I'd go buy some OTC-previously prescription-acid reducers.

Does anyone have any natural, cheap methods of acid reduction (beyond stress removal)?
