Priming the pump...

So I haven’t written in quite sometime. I have a lot to write about, and I’m  going to try to cycle through as I have time. Topics to come include: Christmas; Tsunami, Floods, & Mudslides; Mom, Memory, & Stress; Health; New Years; Soccer; School; General Reflections; and Future Directions.

Sounds like a lot. And it is. I should have been writing about this as it was happening, but I just wasn’t in the mood then. I hope I can catch up with it though. I really have a lot going on in my head, but I’m going to try to get to it systematically.

I guess the most obvious thing to talk about right now is returning to life in
Ohio. Our classes don’t actually start until next week, but I’m hoping to get things rolling this week. So far it has been a slow start. I didn’t leave Greensboro until Sunday, and when I got back here I didn’t get much done. Monday was spent running errands and today I began trying to get my head back into school. I’m trying very hard, however, to get as much of the apartment in order before the end of the week.

I can’t find my laundry card and it had a fair amount of money still on it. I was hoping it would turn up, but now I’m wondering if it made it’s way to Jermaine’s. In any case, I guess I will just have to buy a new one and hope the other one shows up at some point. I should do that tonight so the rest of the week is not dominated by a lack of clothes. Or at the very least, a lack of clean pants. I still haven’t gotten through all of my mail, but I have completely restocked the kitchen. I’ve saved over $100 on groceries in the last two days, but I’ve also spent $150. Most of it will last for a long time though, so it’s more of an investment than anything. One of the stores was having a “stock up” sale and prices were ridiculously low. I have decided to try to purchase almost all of my produce from Aldi. They lack selection, but they have the basics that I use for significantly less than the other stores.

Tomorrow I’m going to try to stick to some sort of schedule with getting school work done and chores. Major emphasis on school work. Unfortunately, some of the tasks I need to do depend on some computer disks that are MIA. Apparently the moving people showed up to the lab before they were supposed to. Things weren't packed yet, the desk with a lot of important stuff is now missing with all of its contents. John doesn't seem to want to actively search for it though. He seems to think it will turn up. Getting the stuff out of the desk, however, is important as much of what I need to do hinges on it. I hope things show up tomorrow.
