So it happened that we moved to Macon in August. And I went back to work at Dollar Tree, only to quit right before Xmas, so I could spend the holiday in Louisiana with Mary and her family. Then the New Year, and we had a party. Our 1-year anniversary came in Rabun County, GA, and Franklin, NC, with some of Mary's old friends. I visited her high school, where my aunt went so many years ago. We have two new additions to the family -- Isabelle the Terror, a lab-beagle mix; and Winnie the Pooh, a "mut" we picked up at Smiley's Flea Market. I am still unemployed, but my life is starting to get better. I'm becoming more inspired by every day things again. I'm looking to get into GA TAPP (Teaching Alternative Preparation Program). Next Saturday morning, there is an open house at West Side High here in Macon for six Middle GA Boards of Education. They talk as if they'll just be handing jobs out, so I'm going to be there. I'm also looking at other jobs right now, staying away from retail of course.
I've been writing off and on lately, doing more reading than anything. Listening to music a lot more, and it helps. I picked up a book on Santeria in Spanish yesterday, and I'm hoping it will help me learn Spanish again.
I've applied for grad school at GCSU -- MA in English, of course.
I have not played drums since I left Idle Yeti back in May, and it's horrible. Every song makes me want to sit back down, but the set is not complete and I have no sticks.
I'm thinking about packing up and moving with Mary, either to Canada or Louisiana. I'm still in love with New Orleans, even more so now that I've met real people there, as opposed to those who cater to tourists or the tourists themselves. Baton Rouge is also nice.
I have a future again, and I'm dying for it to start.
