SUMMARY: What happens after a collision with a foreign exchange student he meets on the train? Who knows. But it's bound to be crazy.
“My phone?” She spoke, but in the only language she knew, English.
“Ehh~?! Is she speaking English?” Hikaru burst out and shoved Keito forward. “Keito, translate!”
“Daiki, she’s asking for her phone.”
“Oh yea, I totally forgot. Sorry.” Daiki held out the phone.
“Sorry, he forgot.” Keito spoke, facing Milan.
“You speak English? Wow, this will make things easier.” she replied.
“Um yeah. Easier? Is there something you need?”
“Kind of. Will you please tell him not to flirt with his boyfriend so much in public? Not everyone wants to see things like that.”
“BOYFRIEND??” Keito was completely wide-eyed.
Milan nodded, pointing at Inoo. Everyone stared at poor Inoo-chan, wondering what just happened.
“I didn’t do it!” Inoo justified. “Wait, what didn’t I do?”
“Baka.” Hikaru said, chuckling.
“He was that’s boy’s wallpaper. And they’re always together. It sorta creeps me out.” Milan told Keito, who, like the others, had no idea what was going on.
“I think you’ve got the wrong idea.” he told her, and turned to explain everything to the boys.
Hikaru and Takaki just flat out laughed like crazy idiots. Ryutaro and Chinen, being the youngest and most naïve, jumped at Yabu trying to get him to explain a bit better. Yuto and Yamada started discussing who-knows-what between themselves, and Inoo and Daiki were shocked and speechless. Well, not exactly speechless because they were trying to explain themselves like crazy. Keito even had trouble translating.
“You really do have it wrong. None of us are like that. The two of them are just really close friends. They depend on each other for everything. Somewhat like brothers.”
“Oh my gosh! I am so sorry! I totally jumped to conclusions. My deepest apologies.” She lowered her head in a bow, trying to show sincerity as well as cover up her bright red face.
Yabu’s phone suddenly rang.
“You guys, it’s a text from Julie! We’re dead if we’re late!”
The boys were in a fluster, grabbing all their things and flew out the door.
“Sorry! We gotta go! Hopefully, we’ll meet each other again soon!” Keito yelled towards Milan as he chased after the others.
Little did he know, he were sure to meet again soon. And hopefully become close as well.
Three Weeks Later…
I’m so nervous! School is starting today and I totally can’t get my head straight! I’ve had a whole month to get ready and now I’m stressing at the last minute! Ugh!
That’s right, school was starting. The wonderful relaxing summer has come to an end, welcoming you to a dreaded school life. For Milan, it’s somewhat worse. Not only was she a foreigner, she was a foreigner that couldn’t speak Japanese. And in Japan, of all places! But luckily for her, she enrolled at a foreign school. Teachers and students are all able to speak English, it should help a lot. Though the work is very tough, it would be easier for her to learn Japanese if they can explain a bit in English.
“Ah! I’m late! I’m late!!” Milan yelled as she stuffed a piece of toast in her mouth and hopped out the door trying to get her shoe on properly. “Ittekimasu!”
“Ittarashai” was heard as the doors closed behind her.
She got a bit bored on the train and started playing with her uniform.
Hmm, this uniform is so cute! If schools in America had uniforms like this, I wouldn’t mind having a dress code.
She lifted her head and stared around a bit. There were so many others wearing uniforms too. And they were each so cute in their own little way. Then something caught her eye. A uniform. It looked familiar. She search for a school badge on his uniform. The same one as hers. And she had a strong feeling, like she had met him before.
Milan arrived at the school gate. Seeing all the other students walking around made her heart jump with excitement and anxiousness. She walked through the school in search of the teacher’s lounge. She needed to talk to her homeroom teacher about her lessons. Milan needed to be given special lessons for awhile until her Japanese was good enough.
The bell rang, signaling the start of class. Her homeroom teacher showed her to class. She was told to wait outside until he would tell her to come in.
“Class, we have a new student transferring from California today. Be nice and help her learn Japanese, okay?” he spoke, and with a pause, he faced the door. “You can come on in now. Go ahead and introduce yourself. English is fine, they’ll understand.”
“Oh, okay. Um, my name is Milan. I’ll be attending here for the next year as part of my transfer program. Hopefully, this experience will make me want to return in the future. I’m in your care.” she spoke and bowed. Raising her head, she looked around the classroom for any reactions.
“Ahh!”
Everyone turned and started at a boy who was now standing up and pointing at her with his mouth wide open.
“It’s you!” Milan and the boy said in unison.
To be continued?
This was supposed to be two separate chapters but the first looks so short when I typed it all out, so I made it extra long. Still so amateur in my opinion. I get annoyed at how bad my writing is, but I have so much trouble trying to explain it in a smoother way. I basically can't. Does anybody else think so too? Honest opinions are appreciated. And do you guys think that it's taking too long for something so simple to happen??
