First off, Again, I need to apologize for not updating recently. I owe you guys a lot. Thanks so much for continuing to read the story though. It's not that long, but I thought I'd make this one a bit interesting. Hope you guys like it. I'll make sure to update weekly now, if I dont, you can all leave me a message and yell at me. I know, I deserve it. I should probably update Sudden and Complicated too. So hopefully, I can have two chapters up next weekend. BTW, I was thinking of changing the title of this story, for some reason the plot has strayed so far from what I originally planned (not that I hate it or anything). What do you guys think about that? I dont want to confuse you when I change the titles and everything. I look forward to reading your opinions in this one.
Title: Attention Grabber.
Chapter: Four
Author: Vy (that's me)
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Fandom: HSJ
Pairing: Yaotome Hikaru x OC x Tegoshi Yuya
Summary: How far will someone go to get another's attention? Let the fun begin!
For the next couple of days, Saki and Hikaru avoided each other. They’d turn corners, or pretend to be doing something else every time their eyes met. Saki continued to be mocked behind her back. She knew they were talking bad about her, but she did nothing about it.
“They’ll get bored of it sooner or later.” she told herself constantly. Day after day, a week passed, two weeks passed, she was still harassed. Saki even stopped visit Tegoshi café. She didn’t want to bother him any longer since she found out some girls from her school were actually bothering him at work because of her. She felt guilty, and didn’t want to cause him any more trouble.
Kumi hated seeing this happen to her best friend. Being bullied was bad enough, but the fact that Saki even stopped visiting Tegoshi drove Kumi crazy. She wasn’t able to help her friend at all, especially since Saki wasn’t willing to confide in her what-so-ever, but Kumi was hoping that Saki could at least come to Tegoshi for help.
Even Hikaru noticed. After all, his henchmen was constantly bringing him the latest news. But what could he do? Seeing Saki everyday tortured him, her pained expression ate at him. Hikaru knew very well that he was guilty, the reason Saki was harassed every moment she was at school, and depressed every other moment because she had no one to confide in. But there were many things preventing him from doing anything about it….
***
One day, just as class had ended, sensei called Saki outside to help carry some items. When she returned to class, all of her belongings, as well as her desk, were gone. A small note was left behind at the spot where her desk once was.
- You don’t deserve to be in the same homeroom as Hikaru-sama. Go to hell. -
Sighing, Saki left the empty classroom once more, in search of her school bag and desk.
***
After roaming the school for two hours, Saki headed towards the rooftop; her comfort zone and the only place she hadn’t searched yet. As the doors closed behind her, Saki spotted her desk and school bag lying in the center of the roof. Running over to her desk, she finds that it has completely been graffiti. Most of it was too messy to read, but the words that could clearly be read listed: bitch, whore, slut, die, despicable, go to hell, leave Hikaru-sama alone. None of these words really effected her, at least, that’s what she thought.
Suddenly, Saki heard a sound by the door. She ran towards it. She reached for the door knob, too afraid to see what would come next. It was locked. She continued to twist and turn the knob, but to no avail. The door was closed shut, with her stuck on the rooftop.
“Help! Is there anyone there?! Please, open the door! Please!” She yelled out, praying that it was only the janitor who had locked it.
“You fool. This is your punishment. Stay away from Hikaru-sama, or else we’ll make your life even worse.” The girls’ voices, Milan’s voice in particular, rang through as she and her minions left, laughing to their hearts content.
Saki continued to turn the door handle, no use. It wont budge.
What am I going to do? She thought to herself, trying hard to hold back her tears. My phone!
Rummaging through her bag, Saki tried to find her cell phone. No where. Instead, she found another note.
- Have fun on the roof. We took your phone so no one would bother you. ^.^ -
“Those bitches….” Saki mumbled under her breath.
Saki’s house:
“Where on earth is that girl?!” It’s too late for her to be out, plus, the rain doesn’t seem to want to let up anytime soon!” Saki’s mother said as she stared out the window, eyes full of concern. As she had said, the rain was indeed pouring.
“Mom, you think she’s with Kumi?” Saki’s younger brother asked.
“She should’ve at least called and told me.”
“I’ll call Kumi and ask, okay?”
The little boy, a mere fourth grader, picked up the house phone and began to dial.
“Moshi moshi?
“Kumi! It’s Kai. Do you know where my sister is? She never came home, and we haven’t heard from her at all.”
“Really? When I left, she was busy helping sensei. I thought she’d be home by now. There’s no way sensei would keep her past six, especially when school lets out at three.”
“Well, she’s not home. And the rain’s not letting up. Mom and I are worried sick!”
“I’ll go look for her okay? If anything comes up, I’ll try to call you.”
The line went dead.
Around Town:
“Saki! Saki-chan! Where are you?!” The words rang everywhere Kumi went. The girl may not be very bright, but she extremely caring and very dependable.
Shaking off her umbrella, Kumi stepped inside a conbini to make a phone call.
“Come on, pick up. Saki-chan, pick up your cell phone already!” Kumi could not control herself. She couldn’t stay calm anymore. She’s been searching for an hour and still no sign of her childhood friend. She’s worried sick. Kumi breaks down and crouches over as tears fall from her eyes.
“Oi, what’s wrong with you?”
Looking up, she sees Hikaru staring down at her while holding a bag of chips in his hands.
“It’s Saki-chan *hic* I can’t find her anywhere *hiccup* And she wont pick up her cell phone…”
Flashback
“Hey, you guys wanna play a little prank on that Kitajima Saki girl?”
“Sounds interesting. What should we do?”
“How about we leave her desk on the roof?”
“That should teach her to mess with us!”
Those girls! They did it! Hikaru remembered it clearly. He was about to leave class, just like everyone else. He overheard those girls planning something. Hikaru didn’t think they’d actually do it, so he just left. But that was a big mistake.
“Kumi, I know where Saki is. Quit crying and hurry up!” And with that, Hikaru threw his bag of chips on the ground and ran out of the conbini, not bothering to even pick up his umbrella.

So how was it? I want to make it a little suspenseful, so Hikka-chan gets some action. xD Comments are loved, as always. Criticism is loved even more, especially when I know I deserve it!
