The Barix Instreamer is a cute little *very solid* aluminum box that takes line level audio, encodes to mp3, and serves it up on an internal Shoutcast-type mp3 streaming server, or shoots it to an external server. Encoding quality is very good.
The Exstreamer is a bit less exotic, and quite a bit less expensive. It decodes a stream and gives you line level out.
And... with either one, on current firmware, when you plug them in, this awesome stream starts issuing forth; from the line outs on the Exstreamer, or the headphone out on the Instreamer. It's a great selection of music that kinda reminds me of what Love 94 would have played back when they existed... and when they were GOOD... back in the early 90s.

Or, just plug in a Barix box. Either way. I highly recommend the little boxes. I mean, sure, you can use an old PC to do the same thing, but the Barix boxes do it on less than 5 watts of power.
