GAME POST:

Yeah so I got Soul Calibur 2 yesterday (I'm counting right now as Thursday Night), GC version while Anthony got the PS2 version.

WO0T.

So yeah I've played it almost non-stop and have unlocked all the features there are to my knowledge. In 1 day from release. I HAVE NO LIFE ~ ah yes but neither do my friends-

!!!

Wednesday was both Anthony's and my Father's birthdays. Ergo, I couldn't head out with Anthony ;\. Upon returning from dinner with my family however, I found Anthony+Nick+Blake+Sam+Tara in my room playing SC2. So we all played et al until 4am-ish (heh amish people are funny), at which time everyone left (Blake had left a little earlier). I continued playing until I noticed the sun outside, then went to sleep. NICK AND BLAKE WOKE ME UP quite early soon after, then Blake and I played SC2 all day. Eventually (12ish hours later?) Anthony and Nick came over, stayed for a bit, then a few hours ago.

Conclusions drawn:

GC remote is fine, and perhaps my favorite for SC2. Link also owns the other 2 console-exclusive chars.
Talim=AMAZING, have gained quite alot of skill with her.
Mitsirugi=harder to use (aka not as broken as in SC1), but still amazing, have gained some mastery with him as well.
Xiang Hua is still very good, haven't played her extensively enough to note the changes, but I've gotten her down some.
Nightmarehas had some notable changes made to him, but all good. Need to get him down a bit better before I know him inside out, but I've become aquainted with his style well.
Ivyis difficult, but damn frekin good. I never liked her, and refused to use her, but I practiced a bit with her, and I know if I get her down well she won't die, heh.

Soul charge is more effective in SC2. I use it at least sparsely now, rather than not at all like in SC1. Other miscellanious changes (wall combos/running up walls for instance) are nice additions to the game and don't incur any major gameplay changes. (though the availability of numerous weapons introduces the potential for various fighting styles for each character)

As of right now, I'm liking Talim alot, she seems very versatile and fast, feels a bit broken, good indeed. Blake is learning the game as quickly as I am (dur), and as of right now we aren't far from how we were in SC1 (NO ONE WILL BEAT US).

MOST BROKEN THING I'VE ENCOUNTERED = Blake playing Voldo with his complete Soul Edge Weapon. Though it drains his life slowly, he can damage through blocks, which with the way Blake plays is very annoying. Not impossible to beat, just annoying as hell.

Mmm thats all for now.

BUY SC2 IF YOU HAVEN'T.

Namdi

will

fall.
