I had to translate a band biography, if you have a minute, please tell me if there's anything un-understandable or strange... It's easier for me to translate from english to french, french to english is really difficult (at least when you don't write the stuff yourself)

anyway, here we go :

Heh, English is not my first language either, but I studied translation, so I gave it a try! ;)

Biocide was created in 1996 by four musicians, emerging from a hardcore background, who wanted to express themselves in a unique way, free from clichés. From the start, Biocide tried to go where no one expected with songs built on tensions, counterparts and the aural(?) balance between both. Biocide’s first album Narkosia (Subvision records / UMC / Local Distribution) was very representative of that « unexpectable » identity, a style some called « psychegroovecore »...

After more than 200 gigs since 2001 (France, Canada, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, Italy), Biocide is now back with a new drummer, who shows stunning musical maturity, and a new bomb: « Le syndrome de Meurfy » (released november 2005).

On this album, the band enters a new dimension, its style evolving to new heights. The « psychegroovecore » label makes sense, more than ever, and every sound or word is in place to avoid rock or metal clichés. Nothing is left to chance !

« LE SYNDROME DE MEURFY » - THE ALBUM
« Meurfy’s syndrome » : Meurfy, a character believing he’s a super-hero, stands as a symbol for everyone’s will of being, even for a few minutes only, the central character of the community, the one who makes things better. Meurfy, disturbed by this obsession, becomes unable of facing reality and jumps down a tower (« 60 floors to learn how to fly »).
Several instrumental pieces can be found on the record - one of them using human voice as an instrument, with imaginary words only (« Winky »). But Biocide doesn’t forget about solid guitar riffing (« My memory is wooly », « N.L.T.H ») and high-energy. Other songs get closer to the trip-hop universe, without falling into the trap of predictability ( « Voices », « Drugs ») - darker, deeper tunes, showing how much Biocide musicians can adapt to any style they want to tackle and warp - they never bow under any musical idioma, but use all of them as expression channels.
As a result, the listener will experience a full range of feelings while progressing through this album - a record which explodes in every possible direction, but never gets too intellectual : it stays fresh, original, easy to listen to, even when musical architecture turns and twists... Biocide are definitely a unique band.
