When an institution that siphons 15 grand a year for me for this so called "education", I expect certain things... Like an internet connection with decent speed and a gym facility that I can use as a student. Of course, as fate has it, the gym is closed for renovation till January and the internet speed is laughable. Yes, welcome to substandard higher education.
If I had a normal major that PSU didn't throw together in attempt to start a niche in higher education system, I would have transferred to U of Pitt loooooooong time ago. The view is much better, more students, and eateries galore. Not to mention the gym and the pools that they have... View's not bad too haha.
I guess they're trying to fix the gym thing though. The athletics dept dude said that they're trying to set something up to get passes for students to a local gym. I might be able to deal with that... But honestly, what local gym will be able to handle 3,000 kids? In McKeesport? I highly doubt it.
On a better news, I saved about 50% of the book costs this semester. Instead of getting it through the bookstore, I got most of my books through Amazon, saving around $300 then another $100 from renting books through Chegg.com. I don't have any need for these books so I figured what the hell. The 50% savings now is better than getting 20~30% of the price paid for the books back from the bookstore IF they decide to buy them back. I felt rather proud about it.
I am staaaaaarving... But I refuse to buy anything. But I might have to break down and get a soda... Ugh. Oh well. Time for a 20 min nap before class. Tootles!
