I think I've given up on any hope of the New York City job coming through, even though it's still posted on the website, and I haven't heard a definitive "no." Is that a nice way of saying "splitting apart due to horribly acrimonious infighting about the role of gays in the church?"

Not really--it's more of a true, honest-to-God corporate re-org, with the goal being to improve the processes of HQ. Despite all the claims in the mainstream media to the contrary, the Episcopal Church isn't actually splitting apart horribly. The Anglican Communion, on the other hand...
