My week

I had a pretty interesting couple of days off. Tuesday after I got up, Kurtis and I went to TGIFriday's. I sampled their delicious pumpkin pie martini. Afterwards we went to Target to get a few things before heading home.

Wednesday I did some stuff around the house before I went to my aunt's the evening for dinner. I took Penny with me because we had dog training classes at 6. My aunt made a new pasta dish and had chocolate cake for dessert. Training class went pretty well. There are 6 dogs total. 3 big dogs, and 3 small dogs. There are also 3 girls and 3 boys. Penny is a bit rusty and she's got a lot more being asked of her this time, but I'm sure she'll catch on. I've been working on some of the things we learned with her the past couple of days. She's catching on pretty quick.

Thursday started off with all kinds of fun. I took Penny outside and waited for her to come back in. Instead of her normal "I want in bark," she was barking more like something was in he yard. it was kind of early, so I went outside to get her so she wouldn't wake up the whole neighborhood. I could tell she was looking at something towards the house, but I didn't see anything until I got closer to the door. I saw what appeared to be a dead or dying cat laying up against the house. it was almost time for Kurtis to go to work, so I made him go check it out. The cat was still alive, but it was pretty much dead at this point. There wasn't anything either of us could've done. it's stomach was pretty much hanging out. he had to go to work, so I told him I would call Animal Control and see if I could get them to take care of it. Animal Control told me I had to contain the animal before they would come get it, so i went out to put a box over it. She asked me if it was still alive. I'm no vet, but it didn't appear to be breathing to me. since it was dead, they wouldn't come pick it up anymore. I had to call the street service for Englewood and have them come get it. I call the city of Englewood, and they won't come get it because it's on private property. If I want to scoop it into a bad and put it on the curb they will come get it though. Gotta love the government. I waiting until Kurtis got home and then we bagged up the cat as well as put it in a box to try to keep animals out of it. They finally came by this morning to dispose of it. Kurtis and I went to Waffle House for dinner. We also made a trip to Meijer to stock up on some food.
