Ch. 11 The Unexpected Visitor

After the defeat of Amy and Ethan, everything seemed to get back to normal...well, as normal as they could be. It had been a week since the battle, and Tara was magically drained from it.
"It won't last long," Tara reassured Willow. "I'll be fine in a couple more days. Heck, I was doing worse than this when you first brought me back, remember?"
"I know," Willow replied. "I just wish you felt better."
"I will in a couple days, I promise."
"How's our patient?" Buffy said coming into their room. "I brought you some tea."
"Thanks Buffy," Tara said taking it.
"Looks like you're doing better."
"I am," Tara replied. "Still a little tired, but I'm doing alright."
"Well Will, don't tire her out too much more."
"Buffy," Willow said as Tara started to laugh.
"I'm joking," Buffy said. "Well, I'm going out to my job, I'll see you when I get back."
"Alright," Willow said. "Take care."
"You too. Both of you."
Buffy left to take Dawn to school and to go to her job. Willow kept Tara company, even while she slept, Willow laid by her side. She kept replaying the memories of when she thought Tara was gone.
The doorbell rang. Willow jumped up out of her dream. Tara had woken up too.
"I wonder who that could be," Willow said. Faith had left for Europe, and Xander and Giles should be at work. Willow opened the door...
"Kennedy," Willow said in surprise. "What are you doing here?"
"I wanted to see you," Kennedy replied. "I'm so sorry I had to leave you, but I was hoping that maybe we could..."
"Will!" Tara called from the back room. "Who is it?!"
"Oh," Kennedy replied. "I didn't think you'd have moved on so quickly."
"Well in fairness to me, how do you think you could just come back after leaving and act like everything is peachy. And besides, I didn't move on exactly, I moved back."
"Will!" Tara called again.
"It's Kennedy!" Willow yelled back.
"Who's that?" Kennedy asked.
"Tara."
"What?"
"Tara, my girlfriend that died."
"Yeah, but isn't she...dead?"
"Was, yes. I found a way to bring her back."
"Oh."
"Look Kennedy, I'm sorry. When you left I sorta got really depressed, and then my cousin, Jake, came and told me of a way to bring her back. I couldn't really say no, could I?"
"I guess not."
"So, this is Kennedy," Tara said coming out of the back room.
"Tara," Willow said. "Should you be up?"
"I'm fine. Hi, I'm Tara."
"Kennedy."
"Nice to finally see you in person."
"Same here. Never thought I would."
"Yeah, well..."

With the invitation of Willow, Kennedy decided to stay a couple days. Willow told Kennedy the full story of what had happened while she was gone. Buffy, Dawn, and Xander were all pleased to see her too. That night Buffy and Kennedy decided to do a patrol together.
"So, I bet it was kind of weird seeing Tara, alive," Buffy said.
"Oh yeah. I had a feeling it might not happen between me and Willow again, but to see she had her old girlfriend back, kinda strange."
"Yeah, I got to tell you something though."
"What?"
"Willow never stopped loving Tara...or should I say not being able to let her go, she told me that when you two were still together. She felt guilty that when she was with you her mind kept wondering off to think of Tara."
"I sort of knew. I guess I just didn't want to admit it to myself. Watch out!!"
A vampire tackled Buffy. Kennedy jumped on top of him, pulling him off of her. Buffy pulled out a stake, but the vampire kicked it out of her hand and broke free from Kennedy's grip. He got behind Kennedy and knocked her out. Buffy ran to the vampire, but another one jumped out in front. After a while buffy staked the vamp, and by the time she had, the other vampire and Kennedy were both gone.
