Wednesday night/Thursday morning
Wow did we have a fucking blast last night. We left Knoxville around 7 and got to Nashville with perfect timing, the show started like 15 minutes after we got there, if that. The venue was awesome. It was called City Hall and was an old abandoned warehouse turned club. Really neat looking inside. And spacious. Knoxville needs a place like that because we have seen the Umphrey's McGee shows at Blue Cat's in Knoxville become more and more packed and they have just totally outgrown Blue Cat's. So we're seeing all these bands we like play the Tennessee Theater because it's bigger, but no one likes going because there are seats! We need to be able to dance. And freely.
But the concert last night was one of the best I've seen, which is saying a lot having seen them over a dozen times now. They played ALL the songs that I wanted to hear: The Crooked One, Sociable Jimmy, 2nd Self, and they closed with 40's Theme!!! Plus they played a song that they had never played live before, always exciting. I think they said it was called Eat. It was AWESOME. They were on it all night. AH!! I can't wait to see them again. It was cool too because I saw a dude there that I barely knew from my cartography class and we hung out at the show, so making a new friend is always cool. The um fans are few and far between on campus. We also saw Chris, who we met at the Umphrey's show from this past Bonnaroo. It's cool all the acquaintances we have just from seeing the same people over and over at shows. Ah I love the camaraderie. MAKES ME EXCITED FOR BONNAROO!!!!
