I have resolved that I really no longer care for livejournal. First of all, it's like killer of all friendships. It requires no effort on anyone's part to actually keep a friendship. Rather than putting effort into a friendship to keep in touch with them, you can just read their livejournal. Then all you have to do is read about your friend, as if you are reading a book. Maybe instead we should just email or even IM or talk on the phone, or *gasp* write letters. I'll admit, I was better about that last year, cuz this semester has been a bit hectic and my internet wasn't working for a long time.
Second of all, anyone who I actually talk to on a regular basis, wouldn't really be writing anything in livejournal that I don't already know about. If they do, then I just talk to them about it. So, it's not really replacing any other form of communication, just coexisting.
Thirdly, it's just something else to create drama, which I hate. People talk about each other right in front of their faces because they don't have the guts to just tell them directly. Or, the other way around, things are said in a poor manner or out of context and end up being interpreted incorrectly (this has happened to me from both sides).
So, I have decided to make it much more difficult for me to update my livejournal....if I want to know what's going on in your live, I should call or email you, not see if you have given me the highlights of your day/week on LJ. So, I uninstalled the LJ thing to make updating easy, I'm deleting the link and doing everything possible to avoid LJ, at least for a while. If I bother keeping it, I'll probably make a new one just for the people I met thru LJ and don't talk to thru any other way.
So that's my decision, judge as you please.
