I can't believe how long it's been since I've written here, but I do have to admit that my soul lies here more than MySpace, facebook, or almost any other social network. This is probably why I haven't written here in so long - I really feel the need to share more in this format rather than the fb cop-out of just a simple sentence that says something witty w/in the moment, yet I can't say I have much TO share. *eyeroll*
Those that were 'in' the D*C drama know what went down and where I stand. I'm NOT doing staff next year as it will be most of our 10th, and I plan on enjoying it to the fullest!! Steampunk theme for the suite party! ('cause ya know I'm always looking for an excuse to get a corset...heh)
Although I still find myself unemployed, I have to say I'm AMAZED by the generosity of D&R for putting up with me for so long. I AM feeling a bit guilty though and may have to impose on some Tejas friends/family in the near future to give D&R a break. Would LOVE to get a job up here though, but still know L.A. is probably my primary target for anything film industry related. Trying once more for an AMAZING opportunity w/Universal Pictures, but selections for that still aren't until next year, and I MUST start getting some kind of income SOOOOONNN!!!
I also wanted to say something about getting sucked into the world of facebook, but I actually started this post a few days ago and now can't remember what I was going to ramble about (might also have something to do w/being a bit tipsy when I started this post (*smirk*).
Halloween plans have gone into a bit of chaos, and I have NO idea what to do for a costume this year. Wanted to trip back to CO, but that's pretty much out the window at this point, and it's even looking shaky that I'll be able to get to TX for Christmas which will NOT make me happy. I've got brats to visit, and they'll even be a new bundle by Xmas 'cause my friend Julie is having her second kid around the beginning of Nov.
Big movie weekend here finally! Saw Law Abiding Citizen at the midnight, and it was okay though flawed. Gerry was, of course, deliciously wicked & damaged, but I would've liked to have gotten more into his character's shady background and added a few more clever schemes that Clyde concocted to mess w/the system. It just felt like it needed a LITTLE bit more that wasn't given up in the trailers to fill it out, and Jamie Foxx's character needed a bit more redemption. I didn't care for him much at all, and I don't think he was repentant enough at the end of it all. It just didn't feel like his character honestly grew or learned anything from all the tragedy, and since he wasn't all that likable to begin with it's not all that fulfilling when to know he's most likely gonna 'beat' the more sympathetic bad guy character. Won't even go into the crazy ease judges and government officials take in trampling over civil rights.
Where the Wild Things Are IMAX is next on the agenda. Need to see BOTH these movies multiple times, especially in the next couple of weeks to get as much back to the studios as possible. Especially with LAC being GB's production company (Evil Twins) first endeavor, even though it wasn't perfect, want to help it out as much as I can obviously. It was a solid first effort for him as a producer.
Until next time....
