((Whoops! I can't believe I forgot to update with the link to
part three yesterday when it went up. Oh, well.
Anyway, since this journal pretty much serves as the behind-the-scenes, player-commentary kind of stuff, I thought I'd talk a little bit about Seyda Neen. As newbie towns go, it isn't bad, with introductions to some of the setting elements without going so far into detail that you get bogged down. There are a couple of fairly simple quests, and the choices you make in them may or may not extend the quest-line. I actually had to do a little bit of save-stating to get the screenshot of Hrisskar offering to cut us in on shaking down Fargoth, because if you refuse the first time he won't let you ask again, and I couldn't be certain the Sages wouldn't decide to blow him off.
There's also a second part to the dead tax collector quest that comes up if you fess up about the money (I don't remember if you get to keep it--probably not). Since you're clearly such a fine, upstanding citizen, Baldy McChargen asks you to find the killer and give him a taste of Imperial justice--with death! But that's for another adventurer. Who knows, maybe when Jarl has had a good run, I'll start over with a different sort of character. How's that sound?))
