Pulling it in from FB

It was probably a far better choice for LJ anyway.

I'll need to expand on this later as I'm in the middle of leaving the house now. But back a year ago today I posted Playing "Get to know you" via text on the phone: is this a millennial thing?
Ways to get to know me: in person, chance meetings. Email, maybe. Instant message (differentiated from Text by the presence of something I can touch type on, rather than have to pick at or dictate to and then fix). possibly though not likely phone.
hm. Perhaps I'm simply impossible to get to know other than running into me repeatedly?
and then my weekend this weekend was full of finally seeing people in person who aren't for the most part on social media*, and it was marvelous, and I wrote this: One of the best things about this weekend was the time in person with folks it had been too long since I'd seen, and in small enough groups that it was possible to actually reconnect.
The swype and the dictation on the phone helps a little with making texting a viable communication medium, but it still lacks the ease of voice or keyboard. I have to pay so much attention to whether it's written what i tried to write; a real keyboard it's just the same as talking for me.
I'm surprised by the datestamp of this memory. I don't think I'd yet met the couple people I can think of who might have inspired it. Or perhaps I'd met one and not the other.
People come into and out of your life. I owe a couple texts to a few folks I used to know far better.

Over this weekend I deliberately overscheduled myself more than once in order to make that party, because it's been too long since I've seen this person. And I also completely by chance got to reconnect with several folks.

Need to run now. Needed to write, though.
*some used to be, some never were, some were on LJ and then not; one was on fb until the names policy got him, but people who are important to me.
